Tastes Like Romance: Tinder Intros RelationChips

Some sweet and spicy work from Mischief

Tinder is here to dispel the misconception that it’s solely a hookup app. Contrary to popular belief, a new relationship starts on Tinder every three seconds. The same time it takes to eat a potato chip. Mischief turned that dating factoid into a snack, with “RelationChips.”

The sweet and spicy snacks are available for free while supplies last.

“Our brief was to make Tinder’s three second claim famous. To make the claim as tangible as possible for people, we were trying to think of things that take about three seconds to do,” say agency creatives Ashley Veltre and Holden Rasche. “And while the average sneeze apparently also takes three seconds, we thought making a bag of chips would be more fun than a box of Tinder-branded tissues.”

Roughly 1,500 bags will be up for grabs to the public and there’s a QR code on each bag that offers the snacker one free week of Tinder Gold.

“There’s probably a ‘word of mouth’ pun somewhere in here,” the pair tell Muse. “But our primary outreach is through some amazing influencers, as well as on Tinder’s own social channels. The chips taste surprisingly great, considering we have no expertise in making chips. Fortunately, our partners did. And they nailed it. Sweet and spicy—just like Tinder.”
